- Check out the Modern Blocks book we are using for our BOM (Page 128 and 178 for the Wonky Star block).
- Adapt these blocks, or use them as they are, and make anything at all. A table mat, table runner, mug rug, tablecloth, iphone-pod-pad cover, pillowcase, sewing-machine cover, ironing board cover… the only stipulation on your ideas is that whatever you make must have a Wonky Star block (or blocks) on it!
- Email us a photo of your entry or a link to your blog post to [email protected] by 21 June, and bring it along to the AGM on 28 June where the winners will be announced (draw will happen just before the meeting so make sure you get those entries in!).
Now, to get you started, Sara at SewSweetness has offered us a 20% discount off her patterns, which brings the cost down to around $6. Her patterns are detailed and show you all sorts of tricks, including various ways of inserting zips (or zippers as she calls them). The discount code has been sent out to the mailing list.As a second help-along-the-way, Gina is going to demonstrate how to put in a zipper, something a lot of quilters aren’t very confident doing, at the May meeting – 26 May, 3-6 pm, EJ Scout Hall, South Perth.So, get those imaginations up and running! Bring all those lovely Wonky designs out of the cupboard and get sewing.
