As predicted, it was a more subdued meeting today. Quite a few new faces, quite a bit of chat about this year’s Craft and Quilt show and a lot of productive sewing.
Show and tell produced some beautiful quilts and WIPs as always…
And Jessica brought along her 9 month WIP (now finished for 2 months), her beautiful son, the young Mr T. We presented them both with the (first) PMQG collaborative baby quilt, made for them as a gift. It was hard keeping it a secret for so long and it was very exciting to gift it.
Mr T seemed to like and appreciate his new quilt (“Bonnie and Camille? What excellent taste you ladies have.”)
Afterwards there were baby cuddles to be had, here is Karen demonstrating that remembering how to hold a baby is like riding a bike…you never forget after all those years.
While some continued to coo over bub, others were quite engrossed in watching an impromptu demo by Jacqui. She showed us how the Bernina needlepunch tool works to make beautiful textile art. That’s another thing for the shopping list.
Remember everyone that today was the May meeting and that there is no meeting next weekend! Our next meeting will be on Sunday 28 June and it will also be our AGM. Details about that will be landing in your inboxes very soon…
