Survey results…

We wanted to know what techniques our members are interested in learning more about … So we sent a little survey out to help committee make plans for the coming year. This is what came in.

FMQ topped the list, followed equally by foundation paper piecing, needleturn applique, and quick piecing techniques. Colour theory, fabric printing and mitred corners also rated a mention or two.  Sheila wants to learn “Self control in a quilt shop”  – sorry, we don’t know any quilters who could teach that and it’s not something we’d encourage anyway!

We also asked if members had any skills they’d be willing to teach. Gina suggested that the group wasn’t ready for her kind of skills (opening a champagne bottle with your teeth). Luckily we DO have a couple of teachers (or ex-teachers) in our midst, but we ALSO have a few experts in areas that people want to learn who might be bribed willing to give us a little demo.

In terms of challenges and swaps, people are KEEN! But keen for small, functional items such as pincushions and pouches

Weekday meetings were also mentioned and something we can look into when there is a keen core group to organise it.

We are all REALLY looking forward to our Spring into Spring retreat at The Wine Tree in Dwellingup and planning out some activities for PMQG for the coming year. As always, we’d love to hear your thoughts and suggestions so please, talk to a committee member and let us know your ideas! If you’re not a member but thinking about coming along to meetings, we’d still love you to fill out the survey telling us what you’d be interested in!
