Our “Easter” meeting was truly egg-cellent! The hall was packed with over 30 members in attendance…
…and the afternoon tea station was groaning under the weight of Easter goodies.
Meanwhile, Karen could be found assembling the new cabinet, purchased to store our growing amount of crap resources.
Once everyone had found a spot and settled in for a few hours of sewing, Kate and Alex shared some of the techniques and ideas they had learned while doing the modern medallion quilt-along. Kate demonstrated the (wavy) overlap cut.
Alex talked about her improv paper piecing journey and showed us the amazing block which was the destination.
As usual, show and tell brought an array of beautiful and varied quilts. Here is just a small selection of them…
…and Karen made a bag. Well, two bags actually but this one is particularly funky.
After show and tell, members were told to expect their first emails from the Modern Quilt Guild some time in the coming week.
Once sewing began in earnest, it didn’t take long for someone to find and start using our new Accuquilt Go! Cutter. 🙂
Our next meeting is on Sunday 19 April, earlier than usual due to the Anzac day long weekend. Don’t forget your name badges to swap if you are participating and also your ugly (or should we say, challenging?) fabric challenge item, wrapped and ready for the lucky dip!
Have a lovely Easter holiday and hoppy sewing!
Kate
