If there’s a reference book for modern quilting, this is it. Quilting with a Modern Slant, by Rachel May. It’s the definitive guide, the history and the Who’s Who of Modern quilting.
The book is chock full of ‘articles’ (for want of a better word) on the who’s who of the modern quilting movement. From Weeks Ringle to Denise Schmidt, Jacki Gering to that really famous blogger whose name you can never remember… The people. Their quilts.
Be warned. This is not a pattern book. There are a few patterns in there, but not as many as you’d automatically expect from a book of this size. It really is more of a reference book. There are also some step-by-step techniques laid out for you, but for the most part, it’s eye candy and inspiration.
The quilt above by Weeks Ringle was the inspiration for my mod mini challenge entry.
