Our final meeting for 2014 wrapped up today in a bundle of sewing, socialising and show & tell. A lovely turn out with lots of regulars and a new face revamping her mum’s retro curtain quilt.
Jodie did a great job updating us with committee news and a shout out to Karen, we are all glad to hear she is home and recovering well. Members were a-buzz with the idea of some guild shopping (Accuquilt…?), thinking caps need to go on and suggestions thrown the committee’s way. We heard how the last retreat (massages, swooning and all) was a great success and everyone is eager for the next one.
There was lots of different sewing going on with machines, the ever fun hexi hand sewing and some gorgeous hand quilting. The locked up iron didn’t hold too many back! It must be mentioned that as always the room was filled with chatter, support, advice and admiration. Don’t you just love it!
Show and tell was a highlight with swoon block advances, quilts, runners, intricate quilting and some personal fabric designs impressing all and leaving us wanting to order the quilt word fabric by the yard!
As we see the year out everyone is looking forward to Handcrafter’s House and the Christmas party (Was anyone secretly working on a Secret Santa gift today?!). Until next year, a Merry Christmas and a happy quilty new year to you all!
